Bicycle Friendly Community
The City of Henderson is a Bicycle Friendly Community
at the silver award level. Organized by the League of
American Cyclists, the Bicycle Friendly Community
program is designed to improve bicycling opportunities
within our communities. Henderson’s roadmap features
safer roadways for cyclists, classes and recreational
activities, convenient bicycling amenities and exciting

City Council Meetings
Henderson City Council meetings are held at 4:00 p.m.
on the first and third Tuesday of each month in
Henderson City Hall.
City Council meetings are also broadcast live on the

variety of charges including ambulance bills, pet
licenses (pet must be spayed/neutered), water and
sewer bills, and business license and permit fees.

First-Time Homebuyer Program (FTB)
The City of Henderson supports first-time home buyers
and homeownership programs in our community. Please
see the website below for HUD Approved Counseling
agencies and community partners that offer down
payment assistance and pre-purchase counseling to
eligible first-time homebuyers.
Housing Rehabilitation Program (HRP)
The City of Henderson is committed to preserving the
City’s affordable housing stock. The HRP Program
helps citizens of Henderson with repairs such as code
violations, health and safety issues, energy efficiency
and ADA modifications. Repairs may also include
heating and cooling systems, minor roof repairs, and

make the dream of homeownership a reality for qualified

Clean Up Your Neighborhood
Community Development & Services has partnered with
Republic Services to provide 20-cubic-yard Dumpsters
for weekend cleanups. There is no charge for the
service, all we ask is that you distribute flyers, which we
provide, to your neighbors. For additional information,

Homeowners often don’t realize many home-based
projects, such as replacing a water heater, require
a building permit. By working with an expert code
official, do-it-yourselfers can take advantage of their
knowledge of building codes to ensure the project is
built right, will be safe and will last. If you aren’t sure
if your project requires a permit, call the Development
Services Center (DSC) at 702-267-3610. Permit
applications may be filled out online (cityofhenderson.
com, search “Permits and Plan Check”), but must be
submitted in person at the DSC.
Utility Services: Water & Sewer
To start or change water and sewer services at your
personal residence, contact the Customer Care Center
at 702-267-5900 or stop by the Development Services
Center on the first floor of West City Hall. A deposit
may be required when requesting service. Personal
identifying information may be requested to establish
service or to make changes to an existing account.
